The very first solid baby food to try is rice cereal, it is low in protein and will not be likly to cause any allergic reaction.  Mix the rice with breast milk or with formula and be sure that it is mixed thin, it will be simpler for you baby to swallow.  When you baby has gotten used to the rice cereal there are other cereals that you can try, then try mixing it with some vegetables.  It is best to try vegetables first because your baby may not want to eat then if you first give your baby sweet fruit.
