Heavy Down Comforter-For Better or Worse?
Seasonal bedroom decorations are simply the things you need such as bed linens and some decorative items like throw pillows. Take advantage of seasonal bedding that goes on sale right before new merchandise is released. This is an inexpensive way to change colors, patterns, textures and fabrics as the seasons change.
In the colder months, buy heavy down comforters. For winter, a full-bodied and heavy down comforter is the most comfortable bedding. Cotton flannel is warm and cozy, but who wouldn’t want a luxurious, thick satin in cold temperatures? A dark purplish-red to blackish-red color, green and blue are appealing to some people, while others prefer neutral colors. Throw pillows in fleece or velvet fabric or other rich fabric are warm touches for a winter season.
You can easily change your bedroom to a lighter energy by replacing the heavy comforter with light-weight blankets in fresh spring colors. Swap velvet throw pillows for floral prints or patterns and colors that signal the beginning of a new season. Add into the mix yellow bedding and extra pillow shams. For additional impact, employ different colored top and bottom sheets. Adding a vase of fresh flowers can really set a spring mood in your bedroom.
Cotton is a neat option for cool and comfortable summer bedding. Eyelet cotton fabric in shades of white is a romantic way to dress your summer bed. A blend of white and pastel colors but limited to three combinations is another way to decorate a summer bed and create a cohesive look. Focus on pillows shams and throw pillows in white lace. Mix stripes and floral patterns for casual look.
Fall decorations can make use of leaf patterns and colors of falling leaves. The theme should lean towards burgundy, burnt orange, red and plum colors. Accentuate your bedding with throw pillows or artwork with an autumn leaf motif overhead.
